The Cellar Door & Restaurant is now OPEN
Special Dinner on Friday & Saturday night June 22nd & 23rd for our Shiraz Release. Bookings essential, menu will be online soon. Look to our Calendar of Events for upcoming dates,we are already receiving bookings for Christmas Celebrations.
With 2011 being consumed with the completion of our Cellar Door and Restaurant Gail and I can now invite you to come and enjoy our wines, as well experience the calming atmosphere and lovely views from the balcony looking out to the vineyard, dams and ponds. The Cellar Door also features an enclosed licensed Garden area.
Our Chef Suzette has many experiences within the food industry. Our Menu will please all Tastes, included on our Menu is our House Specialty “Marron Pie”. The Marron is farmed on Smallwater Estate
The response to our new facility has been very positive.We are catering for groups,up to 50 people, as well as receptions and events.

In the Winery
The 2011 Chardonnay has been bottled and proving to be another winner.
The 2011 Rob’s Block Cabernet Sauvignon is looking awesome, as is the Shiraz.
We can’t wait for the Shiraz, as we have been sold out for a while now and we have many fans waiting for the next vintage.
In the Vineyard –
The vines have more vigour than previous years.It has been a hard season with weather events making us more vigilant.

During a website upgrade to our newsletter over the New Year, a number of archived newsletter emails were sent out. We apologise for any confusion this caused, the upgrade is now complete and we hope you’ll enjoy keeping up to date with us in 2012.

The 2010 Rob’s Block Cabinet Sauvignon has just received the equal highest score for a silver medal in the Australian Boutique Wine Show in Sydney.
This show is open to all wineries pressing 300 Tonne or less from Australia and New Zealand and proves that the Cabernet is showing a consistent quality.

I know it has been some time since my last newsletter, so I will bring you up to date on what has been happening.
Smallwater Estate Dominated the Geographe Wine Show Awards.
The debut of the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (Rob’s Block) has taken Smallwater Estate wines to a new level with the top awards at the Geographe Wine Show Awards night. We also got the Best Rose Award two make it two consecutive years for this impressive Rose.
The Rob’s Block Cabernet is named in honour of my late wife Robyn, who established this block of vines, and took great pride in the quality fruit that it has produced. This is the first vintage that has been bottled in my own label, so it is very gratifying to be judged as the best wine of the show, (absolutely, over the moon actually).
Accepting the Top Award
2009 Roze has sold out, and the 2010 is now available.
2009 Chardonnay has sold out, 2010 is now available.
2009 Cabernet Sauvignon just released.
2009 Zinfandel pre release sales only through the web site.
Having recently bottled the 2009 Zinfandel it achieved a Bronze medal in the Perth Royal Show, and the new 2010 Chardonnay received a bronze as well. This was against a selection of more than 2500 wines from all ofAustralia and New Zealand.
With the judging getting tougher than ever due to the wine glut these achievements, are something we are very proud of.

Following its success in 2009 our Zinfandel-based Rose has again taken out the Best Rose award at the 2010 Geographe Wine Show.
Part of the zinfandel block was grown specifically for the making of this wine, made in the style sometimes referred to as Blush which is very popular in the USA, particularly California.
This is a great wine to enjoy in summer, but last year’s vintage sold out so now would be a good time to order a case
The Smallwater reds may have been stealing the limelight lately, but our 2010 Chardonnay is keeping pace – winning Bronze medals at both the 2010 Royal Show and 2010 Geographe Wine Show.
Although produced in only limited quantities the 2010 Chardonnay is a quality wine – so we’re delighted to see it gain the critics’ approval.
Capping off a year of critical acclaim for Smallwater Estate wines, our 2009 Zinfandel has scored a Bronze Medal at the 2010 Perth Royal Show.
We are not yet releasing the 2009 vintage for retail distribution, but our friends and regular customers can buy a pre-release case from our site wine list.
